Westside Children's Theatre currently offers musical theatre programs for children in grades 1 - 10 in the West Los Angeles area. Founder/Artistic Director, Jerelyn Newman's true passion lies in the artistic education of children; their emotional development, and the unbridled joy she witnesses in them when they are on the stage. With a deep love for children, musical theatre and her community, Jerelyn decided to follow her dream and open up her own theatre company in 2015.
Westside Children's Theatre is a place where teachers instill in children a sense of wonderment, passion and excitement for musical theatre. Simultaneously, the children are a constant source of inspiration for our teachers. At WCT, children learn to trust one another, take risks, and become part of a larger community. They learn to interact more effectively with their peers, form a deeper and more sophisticated sense of creative identity, and gain ownership over the creative process and product. When a family joins our WCT community, they witness their child's growing confidence, and pure joy of creative expression in a safe and loving environment. WCT's mission is to ignite a spark that shines ever so brightly on the stage. THIS is the true definition of theatre magic!
